Farewell! Mzee Moi

President of the republic of Uganda yoweri kaguta Museveni has on tuesday joined the Moi family, President uhuru and  other Afrcan leaders in the Kenyan capital –Nairobi to bid the fallen former Kenyan president Daniel Arap Moi farewell at Nyayo Stadium.

The Kenya's longest-serving president died on 4 February at a private hospital in the capital, Nairobi, of an unspecified illness. At 95 years old.

Mr Moi's body has been lying in state for three days since Saturday.

The seven heads of state are part of a delegation from 18 countries.  Among the leaders who in attendance are Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Tanzania's John Magufuli, Rwanda's Paul Kagame, South Sudan's Salva Kiir, Ethiopia's Sahle Work-Zewde and the DRC's Felix Tshisekedi.


Other dignitaries are Djibouti's President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Nigeria's Deputy President Yemi Osinbajo, Namibia Deputy President Nickey Iyambo, former Tanzanian Presidents Jakaya Kikwete and Benjamin Mkapa, and Burundi foreign affairs minister Alain Aimé Nyamitwe.

His body will be laid to rest in his ancestral home in Kabarak, located 270km  north-west of Nairobi.
